Whatever engine or rendering environment you plan to use further down the pipeline, MetaHumans start life in Unreal Engine. Leverage MetaHuman Creator’s high-fidelity presets as starting points or use Mesh to MetaHuman with your own unique scan or sculpt to quickly and easily create highly realistic and hugely varied digital humans.

With MetaHuman Creator in Unreal Engine, you can quickly create convincing new characters by selecting a preset as a starting point, blending it with others, and then intuitively sculpting and refining the results—including variants of hair, eyes, teeth, skin, and more—within the constraints of our database of real-world scans and key body measurements you can set.

Create a character from a mesh, scan, or capture footage.

Easily turn capture footage or a pre-existing mesh created by sculpting, scanning, or traditional modeling into your own unique fully rigged MetaHuman with Mesh to MetaHuman in Unreal Engine. Then, further refine it in MetaHuman Creator or other DCCs. Your custom MetaHuman is fully compatible with all other aspects of the MetaHuman feature set.

Adapt, refine, and extend your MetaHumans in other DCCs.

As well as editing your MetaHumans using Unreal Engine’s broader feature set, you can sculpt custom facial shapes, build unique stylized or pseudo-human characters, and art direct expressions in Maya. You can also craft complex groom assets—such as ponytails, buns, and braids—for your MetaHumans in Houdini, and design bespoke clothing for them in Marvelous Designer.
